Featured snippet ranking depends on the page already ranking on page one for the query (usually positions 1-5), the question-answer structure on the page matching the query shape, and the answer being self-contained without requiring context.
The structural pattern that wins paragraph snippets most often: a direct restatement of the question as a heading, followed immediately by a 40-60 word answer paragraph, followed by context. Stuffing the answer into the middle of a longer paragraph reduces the chance Google extracts it cleanly.
For B2B SaaS, featured snippet opportunities are concentrated in informational queries — "what is X," "how does X work," "X vs Y." Bottom-funnel queries (pricing, alternatives) rarely produce featured snippets because the answer depends on context.
How Lytms scores it
Lytms does not score featured-snippet eligibility — different optimization layer. But the Lytms blog and glossary ship every post with a 40-60 word definition box at the top as the featured-snippet target, matching the structural pattern Google extracts most cleanly.
